A unique opportunity to study with Jean & Rob, who will co teach this retreat. Both are Authorised Ashtanga Yoga teachers, and Rob is one of the few Australians to have Level 2 Ashtanga Yoga Authorisation. Take time to develop the more subtle aspects of your practice in a dedicated retreat environment. Places are limited in this course to ensure individual attention. We start Friday afternoon and finish after breakfast on Monday, a number of the yogaspace teachers will also be in attendance practicing & cooking! About the Teachings:Few people have made many, many trips to Mysore to study directly under the tutelage of Sri K Pattabhi Jois and his grandson Sharath. Jean & Rob have spent many months, over nine visits to studying with Pattabhi Jois and Sharath. On this retreat they will share not only the asana practice of Ashtanga Yoga, but the spirit in which we might practice according to Jois's teachings. This passing of knowledge from teacher to student in this way is known as parampara and on this retreat you will have the opportunity to ask questions, refine and develop your practice in the Ashtanga tradition. Morning sessions will include meditation and Mysore practice, evenings and afternoons will include technique classes (eg; jumping back/through), chanting, philosophy, and alignment classes. Jean & Rob will share their understanding of the way in which Ashtanga works both on and off the yoga mat. About the Accommodation:Accommodation is at Honeyeater Ridge in Margaret River.
