Mt Helena Yoga Retreat

Join Stephen Byrne for a restful weekend of yoga in the beautiful surrounds of Mount Helena.

The weekend will include dynamic and experimental vinyasa flow classes, yin yoga, pranayama and yoga nidra. The weekend retreat is an opportunity to deepen your practice, explore playful vinyasa sequences, help your body and mind get unstuck through the practice of yin, and to rest and renew.

Yin yoga will be explored as the precursor to practicing meditation and the retreat will also include periods of mindfulness meditation practice beside dynamic and experimental vinyasa flow classes, pranayama and yoga nidra.

This weekend retreat is a perfect opportunity to deepen your practice through the different practices taught and is suitable for beginners or advanced yogis.

Classes will be taught by Stephen Byrne who has been to India to study at  KPJAYI with Sri K Patabhi Jois and his grandson Sharath 3 times, and undertaken study of Sanskrit and Sanskrit chanting. He has also studied with Paul Grilley the founder of Yin Yoga and is currently studying anatomy at Curtin University which brings a great deal of depth and detail to his Yin instruction. He teaches Ashtanga Led, Mysore, Yin and occasional Vinyasa classes at the Yoga Space.

Nina Davis will be catering the retreat, ensuring the the vegetarian and largely organic food will be delicious and enticing. We will also have chai and a Saturday bonfire (fire restrictions permitting) in the evening!

Join a group of other yogis for delicious largely organic vegetarian food, chai and evening bonfire. This retreat is a popular event, loved by many, so be sure to book early (places are limited).
Starts 6pm Friday and finishes after lunch on Sunday.

About the accommodation:
The accommodation at Mt Helena Theosophical society is rustic. There are single rooms, double rooms and dormitories sleeping 4 or 6. Chalet blocks have shared amenities and are located in a beautiful bush environment. Participants will provide their own sheets and towels. Mt Helena is 21 acre  bush retreat 43 kms from Perth city (approx 45min - 70 min drive depending on where you live)

 

Meals:
All food will be freshly prepared on site and chosen to perfectly complement your practice. The weekend will include wholefoods and organic foods where possible all meals will be vegetarian, detoxing principles will be applied and food will be free from additives and preservatives in general. The food will be simple, but delicious and tasty. Tea and fruit will also be provided as will chai.

 

The Mt Helena Retreat is drug, alcohol and cigarette free.
