Coming Home: Dwellingup Winter Retreat

Come home to yourself this Winter. This weekend retreat is a time for community, connection, delving deep into practice and communing with nature. Think morning chai by the fire, Intuitive Flow, Yoga Nidra, Meditations and nurturing vegetarian food made with love. Spiritual practice when undertaken in nature with community is powerful medicine. Allow the trees and rocks to ground you, support each other in celebration of life, practice and love. Get to know people on a deeper level, explore what it means for you to come home to yourself, with kindness and compassion. This retreat is off grid, bells will announce the timings of our activities so you can settle into and yield to the rhythm. Nature, practice and connection is an amazing medicine, we are excited to co teach this retreat and share with you all this June in Dwellingup. All levels of experience are welcome and celebrated.

Delivered by Jean Byrne PhD, Rob Schutze PhD and guests (Saam Renton & Sam Briatico)

Location

We are staying at Noble River Estate just outside of Dwellingup. Dwellingup is approximately 75 mins from Perth CBD and a peaceful location for a retreat immersed in nature. This retreat is off grid. There is an office landline phone for emergencies, some providers now and then have signal. There is no wifi. If you need to check in with your loved ones, town is just a 6 minute drive away.

About Jean & Rob

Between them Jean and Rob have over 50 years experience in contemplative traditions. Both began their journey with Buddhist meditation and then found a love for asana as a therapeutic tool of healing which beautifully intertwined with their meditation practice. They have practiced meditation extensively in both Zen and Vipassana traditions and their practice evolved from Vinyasa to Ashtanga Yoga which they were deeply committed to for 17 years. In the last ten years they have found joy in connecting to the natural world and their approach to teaching and practice has deepened as they integrate their research, experiences of family life and changes that have occurred in practice due to life transitions. Both are qualified Yoga Therapists, Senior Yoga teachers and have PhDs in their respective fields (Rob: Psychology, Jean: Philosophy). Jean and Rob seek to meet people where they are, with love and compassion and cultivate a community of like minded people who support each other on the journey of life. They co founded Yoga Space in 2005 which is Australasias largest provider of charity yoga programs (through the Wisdom Yoga Institute trainings).
