Polyvagal Theory, Glimmers and Triggers
WED NOV 12, 7:00PM - 8:00PM
“Triggered” is a word we hear all the time. Simply living in a neoliberal society with all its expectations can be “triggering.” In terms of mental health, past traumas, difficult experiences, and situational stressors can “trigger” anxiety, shame, overwhelm, and panic.
We often have to work with our triggers or difficult emotions. But what if we actually started to focus on and nurture “glimmers”? For us, this practice moves away from pathologising/deficits and moves towards hope, beauty, and joy. This not only has a positive impact on our mental health but also opens the doors to daily moments of mindfulness. Working with glimmers can itself be a spiritual practice. ONLINE only.

Yoga Nidra Immersion
SUN-WED NOV 16-19, 7:00PM - 7:45PM
Yoga Nidra is a deeply restorative practice designed to soothe our nervous system. In simple terms, Yoga Nidra supports us in remaining regulated and in our ‘window of tolerance’, as explained in Polyvagal Theory. More deeply, this practice cultivates moment-to-moment present awareness and invites equanimity, depth of experience, inner trust, and the capacity to move into the world calmly and connected.
This special event includes 10 minutes of gentle movement to prepare for the Nidra. The practice in this event is informed by the Yoga Nidra used in our clinical trials of yoga for mental health. ONLINE only.
