Henry Miles
PARAMEDICA & YOGA TEACHER
He/Him
Henry is an experienced yoga teacher, as well as a paramedic and has recently moved to Perth from the UK. He started practicing yoga in 2011, to help him improve his flexibility for his other passions, surfing and capoeira. But it was whilst travelling through Asia in 2015 that he first discovered ashtanga yoga and immediately fell in love with the depth of the practice. In 2016 he travelled to India to study ashtanga intensively and complete his teacher training (500hr RYT). Through years of personal practice and teaching around the world, Henry has developed a distinctive style.
He leads with a strong focus on breath and space, guiding students to enquire how the practice feels for them as an individual, rather than sticking to rigid ideas of 'traditional' alignments. Using his knowledge of the practice and ability to identify how each person's anatomy can fit within the framework of ashtanga, he guides students to develop a truly personal practice.
Henry takes his experience in physical and mental health work to create an inclusive yoga space, with a student centred, trauma informed approach.
Yoga Space acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of Country throughout Australia, their connections to land, sea and community. We acknowledge Elders past, present and pay our respects to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
